Bollywood news

Shatrughan Sinha feels that the #MeToo movement has been blown out of proportion by giving unreasonable attention and media coverage. It has now become a medium to shame anyone without any valid proofs and gaining publicity overnight. He claims that he has no problem in working with Subhash Ghai, the ace director who has also been accused of sexual misconduct by an anonymous person.

Shatrughan Sinha reasoning his decision adds that he fails to understand the hypocrisy of the industry. On one hand they do not have any problem in working with Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted in a serious offence and on the other hand they want to blacklist the people who have not even proved guilty just to look like the heroes of the #MeToo movement. Read here for the complete conversation between Shatrughan Sinha and Subhash K Jha in this Bollywood news.

Q. Your friend Subhash Ghai has been accused of sexual misconduct in multiple cases?

A. Every person is innocent until proven guilty. Shatrughan says that he is all for #MeToo and that never in his 40 years career has he ever misbehaved with any woman. He also says that he treats them with utmost request but at the same time feels that the #MeToo has been blown out of proportion.

Q. In what way?

Shatrughan Sinha adds that though the cause and the motive is noble, it has been open to all. Anybody can name and shame anybody, even without revealing their own name. A lot of people are losing their jobs and positions just because of the allegations. He urges all the aggrieved to reach out to the court of law for justice and not let media step into the shoes of the respected court of law.

Q. Will you work with Subhash Ghai in Future?

A. Of course yes. If he is proven innocent then why would not. And even if he is proven guilty he will work with him provided he serves his punishment. He even gives example of Sanjay Dutt who has served his term and is back in the industry with full bang. Besides, people were working with him even when he was accused in a serious offence.

Q. Many stars have vowed not to work with the  alleged sexual offenders.

A. Shatrughan Sinha call them hypocrites. On one hand they have no problem in working with Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted and on other hand they want to blacklist the people who are yet to be proven guilty just to show themselves as heroes of the #MeToo movement.

In a way I support Shatrughan Sinha’s stand. Atleast the anonymous allegations should not be entertained as it could be a publicity stunt to shame the reputed stars. What is your stand on this Bollywood news? Share your views in the comments below.
