Golmaal Again Movie Review : Lots of Magic & Lots of Laughter!!

golmaal again movie review

Golmaal Again is a ghost comedy with blend of little logic &  lots of magic.

Beautiful backdrops, some nice comedy from verterans including some slapstick humour along with the twist of a ghost. Golmaal Again, the fourth part of Golmaal franchise has tinge of original golmaal with fresh story & prospect. Infact it is only Golmaal film with a plot.

This franchise has two new female faces this time – Tabu & Parineeti Chopra. Parineeti is looking her sleekest best.Tabu brings in some fresh seriousness in this comic flick. This franchise witness a bit age on main characters specially Gopal & Madhav. Johny Lever(Pappi) adds wit to the humour. Sanjay Mishra (Bably) delivers dialogues which are many times meaningless.

This is a story of an orphanage where 05 naughty orphans Gopal, Madhav, Lucky,Lakshman-1 &2 live. All of them leave the orphanage to become small time goons. Gopal & lakshman 1 works together. Madhav, Lucky & Laxman-2 work together. Madhav & gang arranges for ghost setups to get the houses vacated.

All of them reach back to their orphanage where they use to stay, just to find one ghostly story waiting for them. One haunted house, with a friendly spirit who was once close to all five seeking their help to get justice. Anna (Tabu) is a librarian who can see and talk to ghosts help in connecting both the parties.

First half shows all five fights with each other and their attachment to the orphanage. Second half shows them plotting for revenge along with the Ghost against the villains of the story. In villainous roles we have Neil Nitin Mukesh(Nikhil) & Prakash raj(Vasu reddy). Pappi bhai(Johny Lever)is pretty hilarious & definitely brings in laughter. This one has little action and you will not see any cars blowing.

Rohit Shetty has brought in a magical plot in Golmaal Again, which is a welcome change for Golmaal Series. It adds to previous version of this hit series. At many times, the film is successful in creating genuine laughter for cinema goers. The location of Munnar & Ooty gives an amazing feel to film. An old song is given a good retouch. Only thing bad about this movie is long duration, a 15 -20 minutes of less time would have been good. Overall it a good watch, can be enjoyed with family this festive season. I am giving 3 stars out of 5, for all the laughter, location & effort of ensemble cast.
