Judwaa 2 Review : A ride down the memory lane

Judwaa 2 review

Judwaa 2 is twin of 1997 film Judwaa with few good changes. It is refreshing to see an old story in a new package. The treatment of the film is good. It was a good attempt indeed. It has outdone the original at many places.Original had few better things than this one.

Varun Dhawan has done a good job as both Raja & Prem. You can see him in almost all the frames. That’s a big advantage of playing double role. It was challenging to match the power of Salman Khan. But he has done his job well. A few good additions & few subtractions give a fresh look to the film. This film takes you down the memory lane & refreshes the good old memories of a younger Salman.  The cameo in the end creates nostalgia for fans of Salman.

Both Taapsee & Jacqueline are looking ravishing. At certain places, Jacqueline gets absurd with her acting but her looks takes focus away from that. Taapsee is a good actress & fits in every frame well.

Talking about the story, it is more or less the same. But it has been shown in a different way, few characters have been changed. Raja & Prem(Varun Dhawan) are twins separated because of a criminal. Both live away but are connected through a medical miracle. Their entirely different lives clashes with each other due to destiny and brothers finally meet each other. The film has same plot but the execution is different. A long time gap has given scope for a lot of improvement in terms of look and feel of the film.

Judwaa 2 is set in London, original one was set in Mumbai. Location of Judwaa 2 is giving it edge over the original. Comparing the Nandu’s of both Judwaa’s. Shakti Kapoor was looking much better than Rajpal Yadav. Anupam Kher is the person you see in both the films. In this, he is promoted to girl’s father from constable in original one.

Music is good & songs of the film are already popular. The retouch of original hit songs is good.

All in all it is a good film and will definitely entertain you. You must watch it for its refreshing efforts. I am giving this film 3 stars out of 5.
