The whole nation was under a state of shock and highly disheartened after Superstar Salman Khan was convicted in the 20 year old Blackbuck poaching case and announced inprisonment of 5 years on 5th April 2018. However today a huge sigh of relief recieved after he was released on bail today. Read here for the minutest details.

The verdict of 5th April 2018.

On the 5th April 2018, the judge of Jodhpur declared Salman Khan as guilty in the Blackbuck poaching case of 1998 and sentenced him to an imprisonment of 5 years along with a penalty of Rs. 10000. It was more disheartening because all the other accused of the case who were equally responsible  – Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre were all acquitted on the grounds of insufficient evidences. Salman Khan was then moved to Jodhpur Central Jail where he hS already spent 2 nights before the bail plea hearing today.

Bail granted to Salman Khan.

The bail plea was to be heard out on Friday. However the same had been pushed on to Saturday after the judge Ravinder Kumar Joshi wanted to refer to the previous bail granted to Salman Khan in 1998. Salman’s legal team had applied a 51 page appeal for bail challenging the final verdict. The judge wanted to verify the previous records of Salman Khan and decide whether the jail term of Salman Khan should be suspended or not. Hence the bail hearing was pushed on to today instead of yesterday. Finally Salman Khan has been granted a bail on a guarantee of Rs 50000. Salman Khan can not leave the nation in the bail term and will have to appear again in the Jodhpur on the May 7th.

The Blackbuck poaching case of 1998.

In the year 1998 during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hai, the cast of the film including Salman Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Saif Ali Khan had gone on a hunting expedition where they killed 2 Blackbucks in the Kankani village of Rajasthan which are an endangered species. A case had been filed on all the accused under the Wildlife Protection Act.
