Tribute to Shashi Kapoor : A man with Love Story Beyond Time!

Another star from Kapoor Clan has vanished from world. Shashi Kapoor died at Kokilaben Hospital on 4th December 2017. He was admitted to the hospital on 3rd December after chest infection. The cause of death was Liver Failure. The 79 year old actor was unwell for quite a long time.

He shared a great companionship with his wife Jennifer Kendall, who died because of cancer in 1984.He suffered a long pain of loneliness after his wife’s death. Some believe that he never recovered from his wife’s death. He went into depression, loneliness and his health deteriorated badly.



Talking about his career,he featured in many great movies of his time. Few of his memorable work includes Deewar, Suhaag, Satyam Shivam Sundaram and many more. Along with that he featured in many English movies. For his love for theatres, he & his wife Jennifer established “Prithvi Theatre” in 1978.

He was survived by 03 children, two of them (Kunal & Sanjana) are in India and one(Karan Kapoor) is in London. Just like his two brothers, Raj Kapoor & Shammi Kapoor, he gave a commendable contribution to the film industry. He was even honoured with prestigious Padmabhushan Award(2011) & Dadasaheb Phalke Award(2015) for his contributions.

 He acted in many films along with Amitabh Bachchan. Shashi Kapoor used to share a very special bond with him.



On his death, Amitabh Bachchan wrote his experience with the great actor on his blog. He has mentioned his level of relation in this blog. Shashi Kapoor used to address Amitabh Bachchan as “Babbua”. He shared many experiences and truth about Shashi Kapoor’s life.

He was an asset to the nation who lead a sad life after his wife’s death. Now he is free from worldly boundations. We offer our humble prayers for the legendary actor,May his soul rest in peace.
